These brownies have been my go to recipe since I started baking, way back when... God only knows how I found them & even got the will to give them a try
Okay, I think I need to confess; these are Ina Garten's Outrageous Brownies. My real confession is the fact that for the longest time, I'd watch Ina on food network and just wish she'd cut down on the amount of "stuff" she'd put in her recipes. They just felt a bit over kill to me, what did I know though? Really!! 🙄 Please don't hate me all you Ina die hards, I love her now 😋
Anyway, back to these Brownies that will literally knock you out! Every time I've made these, I always make half the recipe twice to fit in two of my 15x10x1" pans. I tried making the full recipe in one go, even went as far as buying the pan size Ina calls for (18x12x1")... Can you imagine my face horror when the pan didn't fit in my oven? Let's just say I cried. Like a baby
So, I'll just stick to my half recipe x2. Thank you very much
Here's the recipe & a lovely video I put together for you. (The music in the video is one of my favourites at the moment. It's called Say I Won't, go check out the full song. You'll love it too)
Preheat your oven to 180C, grease & line a 15x10x1" pan
Melt the butter, 1/2lb chocolate chips & chocolate bar together & allow to cool slightly. Mix the next four ingredients together & add to the butter-chocolate mixture. Leave to cool to room temperature
Stir the flour, baking powder, salt, walnut pieces & the 6oz of chocolate chips together. When the butter mixture is at room temperature, fold in the flour mixture. Pour the batter into the prepared pan & bake for 30mins (or until a toothpick comes out clean)
Once done, allow to cool completely and then put in the fridge to firm up before serving
